Description
Rare sign made by cartoonist/illustrator C.P. Meier. Measures approximately 18” x 30”. Made of painted plywood cutouts screwed on particle board. Some wear and missing wood. Displays well. C P Meier made a series of these. I believe they date from the late 1920’s-1930. Each has a cartoon representing a mixed drink. They were supposed to familiarize people with the names of the “new” mixed drinks that were popularized during prohibition to cover the taste of the low quality liquor. The signs are pretty rare. I have 3. They came out of a local tavern that closed in the 1960’s. Sold As Is. Payment is due immediately for Buy It Now items. Within 3 days for auctions.I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS AT ALL.
